Charging of Print Services
Can we set different print rights for students and employees?
When using a print solution in secondary schools, universities and, for instance, in copy centres, there is a useful tool, a credit subsystem, integrated into the SafeQ print solution. Therefore, SafeQ allows that restrictions be set for specific groups of users in the form of credit.
SafeQ Credit System
| using users' own card readers |
The primary objective of the SafeQ credit subsystem is to provide users a service (print, copying, scanning and fax) for a corresponding amount. To this end, SafeQ is equipped with a system which accounts the price per page to a particular user. The account balance is displayed to users when logging onto the SafeQ Terminal (and/or charging machine) as well as at the credit cash desk operator.
A cash desk is available on the web interface where accounts can be charged and discharged, claims made etc. Another option of how accounts may be administered is a special application for MS Windows with embedded card reader. In this application, you may charge and discharge accounts too, but when compared with a web application, it offers a much higher speed and the automatic identification of users via the embedded card reader. Automatic charging cash desks can be used for charging in the form of coin and banknote machines.
Moreover, the credit system supports the administration of several cash desks, several cashiers, closings, specific statements etc. Difference prices and page accounting methods (proportionally to costs and/or a fixed price for the given output type with no respect to costs for the device) may be set for various user groups.
Cash operations are always bound to a specific cash desk, where the operator closes the cash desk and gives the cash to the client accounting system on a daily or monthly basis.
Charging these services can also be connected to an external credit system, such as a library, canteen or catering systems.
