SafeQ SafeQ

Corporate printing solution -
As the name implies, the YSoft SafeQ Enterprise Edition is a print solution designed for businesses with the highest demands for system accessibility and stability. The Enterprise Edition of the SafeQ print solution includes everything that a SafeQ solution offers. In comparison to the Professional Edition, the Enterprise Edition provides application level clustering and load balancing features implemented on an application level independent of the operating system and database.

Load balancing among several interconnected print servers (called "nodes") makes it possible to process large amounts of pages in one moment parallelly, which increases the amount of pages processed per year. If one of the print servers is overloaded, its functionality is replaced by another node in the cluster. Therefore, users can continue smoothly with their work and the system behaves to the user in a transparent way - so the user does not notice there is a server in the background.

Since the cluster has its own architecture, we managed to incorporate an internal logic into the print server. This logic provides for synchronisation of critical data in real time. Data of less importance are synchronised among the servers with delay. Regular users, however, do not notice such delay. Another feature of Enterprise Editions is Enterprise Central Reporting System. The difference to that included with the Professional Edition is the volume of processed data as well as the way of processing these data. Enterprise CDC is especially designed to be a separate independent server, with features like OLAP and data warehouse. Also, there is a feature called Remote Spooler, which allows a mass deployment of SafeQ servers with centralized management from one cluster, a feature crucial for large implementations in organizations with an extended branch structure.

YSoft SafeQ Enterprise Edition

  • Load Balancing Among Servers
We cannot afford a server failure. Can we cluster the printing solution and balance the server load?

The basic feature of a SafeQ cluster is the absolute independent nature of its operation system. Since it works on the application level, neither the clustering of the operation system (Linux or Windows) nor a database is required. And what's more, the SafeQ cluster also provides fail-over among the nodes in the cluster.

  • Central Administration & Reports Collection
We have more branches and need to monitor printing at all sites. Can we collect data about printing to a single location?

For organisations with a large branch network, the SafeQ systems provide the interconnection of individual print servers and thus enable the centralisation of both statistical and economic reports covering all branches.

  • Central User Administration
We have many users. We would like to avoid opening user accounts manually at multi-functional devices and the server.

The SafeQ user subsystem can use either an internal database and/or can be connected to other existing user resources (such as ActiveDirectory, NDS or LDAP). Thanks to its modularity and flexibility, a new user module may be programmed efficiently to enable a connection to any other user resource (either system or database).

  • Fax and Scan Control
How may the server ensure secured access and simplify work with scanned and faxed documents?

Besides the control of access to print and copying, the SafeQ print server enables securing access and the simplification of work with scanned and/or faxed documents. On multi-functional devices, access to scanning is controlled by the SafeQ print terminal.

  • Secured Printing and the Follow-me
How can we make sure the print queue is printed only when the user is at the printer?

Secured printing, also called "postponed print" or "pull print", is a feature which allows you to actually print out your documents only when you authorise yourself with the SafeQ terminal at the printer. And more, your documents will be available at any compatible printer in the system.

  • Print Jobs Safely Stored on the Server
Is it possible to print a document safely on a multi-functional device located in a corridor and equipped with an unprotected hard drive?

When using the SafeQ server, jobs are stored in one place: the spooler on the server. This storage can be backed up (also differential backup is possible), modified and easily expanded on a regular basis. Furthermore, no hard drive must be procured and installed into the printers, multiplying the cost savings in larger companies.

  • Central Administration via Web Interface
We have many printers and thus need central administration and accounting for all printers and copiers.

Central administration of SafeQ is powered by a web interface accessible anytime from the entire network. You can, under the administration account, manage all the settings of the print environment, e.g. printers, print queues, redirecting properties and access rights.

  • Cost Monitoring
What information concerning printing can be monitored? We would like to receive regular reports by email. Is it possible?

The SafeQ print solution offers the monitoring of printed, copied and scanned pages and faxes, with details of single users, cost centres or machines. Outputs can be monitored on network printers, multi-functional devices and also local (table) printers and plotters.

  • Connection of any Card Reader
We have an attendance system and would like to use our chip cards for access to printers and copiers.

Utilize the same cards as are already in use elsewhere. Just as SafeQ enables customisations, the SafeQ Terminal offers a wide range of supported card readers and connections of entirely new types. A uniform interface for the connection of the reader makes a connection of almost any type possible.

  • Cost allocation
How can we allocate costs for three departments that use the same multi-functional device?

SafeQ accounts printing and copying and takes care of the proper cost allocation accordingly. Therefore, there is no longer the need to record each cartridge and/or paper package provided to a user.
