Do you know how SafeQ works?
- Print Jobs Safely Stored on the Server
Is it possible to print a document safely on a multi-functional device located in a corridor and equipped with an unprotected hard drive?
When using the SafeQ server, jobs are stored in one place: the spooler on the server. This storage can be backed up (also differential backup is possible), modified and easily expanded on a regular basis. Furthermore, no hard drive must be procured and installed into the printers, multiplying the cost savings in larger companies.
- Traceability and Verifiability
Do you need to trace a printed document and have control over what your employees are doing?
All pages that have been printed, copied and scanned are recorded on the server in a database from which you can, at any time, extract basic information such as number of pages, toner coverage, colouring and print language.
- Central Multiple-Server Administration and Reports Collection
We have more branches and need to monitor printing at all sites. Can we collect data about printing to a single location?
For organisations with a large branch network, the SafeQ systems provide the interconnection of individual print servers and thus enable the centralisation of both statistical and economic reports covering all branches.
- Increased Productivity of Printing
How can we increase productivity of work with prints and copies? We would like to deal effectively with repeated tasks.
The efficiency of a print operation is defined by the time that users spend with printing. To increase efficiency, SafeQ provides a wide set of features, including repeated prints, favourite jobs, follow-me functionality, batch-job accounting and more. All unnecessary delays due to waiting for the multi-functional device have been eliminated.
- Central User Administration
We have many users. We would like to avoid opening user accounts manually at multi-functional devices and the server.
The SafeQ user subsystem can use either an internal database and/or can be connected to other existing user resources (such as ActiveDirectory, NDS or LDAP). Thanks to its modularity and flexibility, a new user module may be programmed efficiently to enable a connection to any other user resource (either system or database).
- Load Balancing Among Servers
We cannot afford a server failure. Can we cluster the printing solution and balance the server load?
The basic feature of a SafeQ cluster is the absolute independent nature of its operation system. Since it works on the application level, neither the clustering of the operation system (Linux or Windows) nor a database is required. And what's more, the SafeQ cluster also provides fail-over among the nodes in the cluster.
- Central Administration via Web Interface
We have many printers and thus need central administration and accounting for all printers and copiers.
Central administration of SafeQ is powered by a web interface accessible anytime from the entire network. You can, under the administration account, manage all the settings of the print environment, e.g. printers, print queues, redirecting properties and access rights.
- Print Environment Cost Reduction
Can we limit color printing and copying to a certain group of employees?
Print environment optimisation using a SafeQ product makes it possible to change from expensive local print to more efficient and cost-effective network print. It also enables a better utilisation of reprographic centres in the company.
- Connection of any Card Reader
We have an attendance system and would like to use our chip cards for access to printers and copiers.
Utilize the same cards as are already in use elsewhere. Just as SafeQ enables customisations, the SafeQ Terminal offers a wide range of supported card readers and connections of entirely new types. A uniform interface for the connection of the reader makes a connection of almost any type possible.
- All-in-one Server Platform
We are looking for one comprehensive solution to provide access to all printing services.
The SafeQ print solution is built on the client - server architecture. The SafeQ server can be supported on the Linux and Windows operation systems and without a separate dedicated computer. Thanks to its architecture which saves data to a relational database, there is centralised access to the entire environment. All system settings can be administered on a comprehensive basis through the web interface of the server.
- Localization in International Languages
Our management requires language support of the printing solution in our corporate language.
In total, the print solution is localized, to a full extent, in 14 world languages. SafeQ Terminal print centres and the actual SafeQ web interface are both localized. The administration interface is subjected to localization as well.
- Cost Monitoring
What information concerning printing can be monitored? We would like to receive regular reports by email. Is it possible?
The SafeQ print solution offers the monitoring of printed, copied and scanned pages and faxes, with details of single users, cost centres or machines. Outputs can be monitored on network printers, multi-functional devices and also local (table) printers and plotters.
- Cost allocation
How can we allocate costs for three departments that use the same multi-functional device?
SafeQ accounts printing and copying and takes care of the proper cost allocation accordingly. Therefore, there is no longer the need to record each cartridge and/or paper package provided to a user.
- Secured (Postponed) Printing and the Follow-me Functionality
How can we make sure the print queue is printed only when the user is at the printer?
Secured printing, also called "postponed print" or "pull print", is a feature which allows you to actually print out your documents only when you authorise yourself with the SafeQ terminal at the printer. And more, your documents will be available at any compatible printer in the system.
- Return on Investment
The optimization of the entire printing environment requires a substantial investment. When can we expect a return on our investment?
To reduce costs of the print environment and to make possible the centralisation of a larger number of printers belong among the main reasons why companies and institutions procure print solutions. After SafeQ installation, companies and corporations achieve printing cost savings of 20 to 30 percent, and the return on investment into the whole print solution ranges from 0.8 to 1.1 years.
The "services" segment is comprised of companies with high IT requirements, typically represented by utilities, telecommunication operators, travel agencies and IT companies.
In accordance with the idea of "selling services", the implementation of a print solution is understood as "providing services" to all employees at the greatest extent possible. Beside the standard features of terminals such as secured print or follow-me, tracing and scan accounting, other features come in handy here (such as favourite jobs or shared queues). Complete reporting and accurate accounting are emphasized as well.
All these stated features provide a technological lead and are considered to allow a competitive advantage particularly in this segment.
